How do I get YouPractice?
YouPractice is available as a mobile app. Download it from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Search for "YouPractice" or visit our homepage for direct download links.
How do I start practicing?
Open the app, search for any YouTube video with captions or paste a video URL. Once loaded, select your preferred practice mode (Listening, Shadowing, or Speaking) and start learning.
Do I need an account to practice?
You can try basic features as a guest, but creating a free account lets you save progress, sync across devices, and unlock all practice modes.
Practice Modes
What is Listening Mode?
Listening Mode tests your comprehension by playing video segments and asking you to type what you hear. Great for improving listening skills and vocabulary recognition.
What is Shadowing Mode?
Shadowing is a proven technique where you listen to native speech and repeat it, mimicking pronunciation. Record yourself, compare with the original, and track your improvement.
What is Speaking Mode?
Speaking Mode (Pro) enables AI-powered conversations about video content. The AI asks questions about what you watched, helping you practice speaking naturally.
Subscription & Billing
What subscription plans are available?
We offer Free (basic features) and Pro ($9.99/month or $7.99/month annually). Pro includes AI pronunciation scoring, Speaking Mode, and priority support.
How do I manage my subscription?
Go to Settings > Subscription in the app. For iOS, subscriptions are managed through the App Store. For Android, through Google Play Store.
Can I get a refund?
Refund policies are handled by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). Contact their support directly for refund requests.
Languages & Content
What languages are supported?
YouPractice supports any language with YouTube captions available - over 57 languages including Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, German, Chinese, Portuguese, and many more.
Can I use my own videos?
You can practice with any YouTube video that has captions (auto-generated or manual). Simply paste the video URL into the search bar in the app.
Why are some videos not available?
Videos must have captions enabled. Some videos may be region-restricted or have embedding disabled by the creator.
Troubleshooting
The video is not playing
Try closing and reopening the app. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. If the issue persists, try updating the app to the latest version.
My recording sounds distorted
Grant microphone permissions when prompted. Use headphones to prevent echo. Check your device microphone settings and ensure no other apps are using the microphone.
The app is running slowly
Close other apps running in the background. Make sure you have the latest version of YouPractice installed. Clear the app cache in Settings > Storage.
